Due to the rise in community cases, we will be relaunching our online classes from 16th May 2021. This page goes through what to expect and attempts to answer some questions about the effectiveness on the learning and various common questions regarding the online lessons.
Our Unique Approach
In this trying period, we have crafted a unique way to host our online lessons to give all students a comprehensive learning experience. We have developed a 3 prong approach towards online learning which compromises one of our newest addition to our teaching arsenal, Online Supplementary Classes (OSC).
A short excerpt of what our OSC entails:
“The OSC is the first of its kind in Singapore to be used in Drum/Music Schools in Singapore. A platform that is not to be confused as a lesson tracking platform, OSC allows students to choose from our pool of grooves/fills and songs through our recorded videos or even revise their theory with our animated videos. All materials are online exclusive and are on top of our regular lesson curriculum.
Materials will also be open for all students of DrumTannery regardless of where you are in your journey. This encourages students to gain a sense of direction through exposure and an idea of what the concepts learned in class can materialize into. It also allows knowledge-hungry students to try out tested and proven fills/grooves at their own time and at their own pace. ”
The OSC will also have giveaways/contests periodically for students to be more engaged and motivated in their learning journey.
3 Prong Online Learning Approach
On top of our OSC platform, the two other approach are as follows:
- Online lessons via Zoom. This will allow the instructor to teach the basic concepts and correct postures, grips and other problems that students might face. The teachers will also be using this time to give out assignments and correct previous assignments in order to help the students learn more effectively.
- Google Drive incorporated lesson flow. Each student will receive a online learning ID and be assigned a personal Google Drive folder. All lesson materials will be passed through your personal drive for you to print out and for you to upload your assignments before your next class. Pre-recorded videos will also be available to allow the students have a better learning experience without any latency/lag time at the comfort of your practice.
